AMEHOF Outreach Program

Goal

The goal of the Public Outreach Committee is to make Arizona residents aware of their Music & Entertainment Hall of Fame. Educational programs including speakers, informative DVDs and special guests will be presented in association with our library community events programs and school programs. Traveling exhibits will visit the smaller and more remote cities and towns. Educational material will be available at local events, festivals and special gatherings. We will work closely with the PR/Media Committee to take advantage of opportunities to promote the AMEHOF through all media sources.

Projects

An ongoing project is the building of a comprehensive database for Arizona events, civic organizations, city chambers and tourism offices, corporations, school districts and other potential opportunities to raise awareness of the AMEHOF.

The first Public Outreach presentation was held at the Appaloosa Library on Feb 4th. It went very well and I am encouraged by the positive comments, especially for the video done by Scott Pfister and Hans Olson. Marshall Trimble, our special guest, was great, as usual. Come join us at our next prsentation at the Scottsdale Civic Center Library at 6PM on Feb 25th. Marshall will be joining us again and we”ll have some fun sharing Arizona Entertainment Trivia. Tell your friends.

We added Arizona Entertainment History Trivia to our Feb 25th Outreach presentation and it was a hit.

    Trivia questions included:
Name the Arizona native from Flagstaff who played the stagecoach driver in the film “Stagecoach”? Hint: He was raised in Kingman.

What is the stage name for this Cortez High School graduate whose real name is Vincent Furnier?

What is the first move filmed in Old Tucson?

When Henry John Deutschendorf, Jr. lived in Tucson, his grandmother gave him his first guitar. His successful career saw him leaving on many jet planes as he toured the world.

He was a NASCAR driver, singer/songwriter, multiple Grammy winner and was born in Glendale.

Thanks to Marshall Trimble who contributed many of the trivia questions.
And thanks to everyone who participated in our outreach programs. We will be scheduling more soon.
